Lord, a few more hours of my life have gone by.
One more day: you know what it has been.
I don't know very well;
but I ask you to shine your light on it.

I want to turn to you.
I want to try to understand your will for me.
I want to remember what you expected of me
and rediscover my true freedom by daring to say to myself and to you: "Today you called me.
Today you told me to do your will.
Did I pay attention, yes or no?

Lord, forgive me:
I've lived my life mechanically, I don't remember anything.
Give me the strength to remember,
so that the days don't flow away like water
or vanish like smoke.

Give me the strength to live fully, Lord
because you give me life.
Give me life to love you.
Grant that my feelings may not be as fleeting
as clouds or dust
at the mercy of the winds.

Grant that my life may not be consumed
in vain, for nothing,
but may it be inscribed, day after day
in the eternity of your Love.
