Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
who visits and redeems his people.

He brought forth the force that saves us
in the house of David, his servant,

as he said through the mouths of the saints,
by his prophets, from ancient times;

salvation that tears us away from the enemy,
in the hand of all our oppressors,

love he shows towards our fathers,
memory of his holy covenant,

sworn oath to our father Abraham
to surrender without fear,

so that delivered from the hand of enemies
we served him in the justice of holiness,
in his presence, throughout our days.

And you, little child, you will be called
Prophet of the Most High:
you will walk before, before the Lord,
and you will prepare its paths

to give his people to know salvation
by the forgiveness of his sins,

thanks to tenderness, to the love of our God,
when we visit the star from above,

to illuminate those who dwell in darkness
and the shadow of death,
to lead our steps to the path of peace.
