Prayers for January
Wed 27 Dec 2023 PM | Wed 27 Dec 2023 PM
The Church dedicates the month of January to the Child Jesus and in particular to the Most Holy Name of Jesus.
Devotion to the Most Holy Name of Jesus has been celebrated since the origins of the Church. Saints Peter and Paul are said to have contributed to its spread. More recently in the Middle Ages, Saint Francis of Assisi was also one of its promoters.
Eight days after the birth (Christmas) of Jesus, devotion to the Most Holy Name of Jesus begins to celebrate the day on which Saint Joseph circumcised Jesus and gave him his name.
Devotion to the Most Holy Name of Jesus is based mainly on the power of the name of Jesus, the defence and adornment for the faithful, protection against evil and the precious talisman against demons, illnesses and infirmities.
Below, touteslesprieres.com offers you some prayers to inspire you throughout the month of January.
