1.    Jesus, Son of the living God, have mercy on me;
Jesus, image of the Father...
Jesus, eternal wisdom
Jesus, splendour of eternal light
Jesus, Word of Life
Jesus, son of the Virgin Mary
Jesus, true God and true man
Jesus, High Priest
Jesus, herald of the Reign of God
Jesus, You are the way, the truth and the life.
Jesus, bread of life
Jesus, true vine
Jesus, brother of the poor
Jesus, friend of sinners
Jesus, doctor of soul and body
Jesus, salvation of the oppressed
Jesus, consolation of those who are abandoned
You who came into this world
You who freed those who were oppressed by the devil
You who have been hung on the cross
You who for us have accepted death
You, who was laid in the tomb
You who have descended into hell
You who rose from the dead
You who ascended to heaven
You who sent the Holy Spirit to the apostles
You who sit at the right hand of the Father
You who will come to judge the living and the dead

2.    Through your incarnation, deliver us, Lord;
By your nativity...
By thy baptism and thy holy fasting
By your Passion and by your Cross
By your death and burial
By your holy resurrection
By your admirable rise
By the outpouring of the Holy Spirit
By your coming in glory

3.       In naming the Cross it is good that the faithful sign themselves.

Save me, Christ the Saviour, by the power of your Cross + :

You who saved Peter from the sea, have mercy on me.

By the sign of the Cross + , You our God, deliver us from our enemies.

By your Cross + save us, Christ the Redeemer, You who by dying destroyed our death and by your resurrection restored our life.

We adore Your Cross + , Lord, we venerate Your glorious Passion; have mercy on us, You who suffered for us.

We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, for by Your holy Cross + You have redeemed the world.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is a central figure in Christianity. He is regarded as the incarnation of God.

The historical existence of Jesus is attested by archaeological research and by the accounts of Roman historians (Flavius Josephus, Tacitus, Suetonius).

At about the age of thirty, Jesus left Nazareth and began an itinerant public life. He calls his disciples and walks with them through Judea and Galilee. He teaches, he heals the sick, casts out demons, walks on water, forgives sins, raises the dead. He is attentive to children. He shares meals, a wedding party, pilgrimages to Jerusalem. He lives as a Jewish believer, goes to the synagogue, observes the Sabbath. He weeps, gets angry, experiences sadness, fatigue and thirst, compassion and even anguish. Jesus is known for his natural authority.

With all the miracles he performed, Jesus is the one to whom prayers should be addressed no matter what difficulties one faces.
