Saint Marcian is invoked against urine retention.
Saint Marcian, a martyr, was a distinguished figure of Rome, who converted at the sight of the resurrection of his son, named John, brought about by the prayers of the holy martyrs Abundius and Abundantia.
The Emperor Diocletian, informed of this conversion, had his head cut off, as well as that of his son and the two saints who had resurrected him.

INVOCATION:
Blessed be the Lord who gave rest to his people Israel, as he had spoken. Not a single word fell to the ground of all the good words he had spoken through Moses his servant. May the Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers, and do not forsake us, nor forsake us. But let him bow our hearts to him, that we may walk in all his ways, and keep his commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances which he commanded our fathers. And let my words, by which I prayed to Israel, be present before the Lord our God day and night, that he may uphold the right of his servant, and the right of his people Israel, as he will need it every day.
That all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and there is no other; and let our hearts be upright with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and keep his commandments, as today.
Saint Marcian, help us, we beg you; intercede for us so that we may be healed.

PRAYER:
O suffering Jesus! you are also the good shepherd, and I am your lost sheep, who by his sins has become as if lost for all that is holy. But you sacrificed your life on the cross for her, in order to save her, and to bring her back here below to the fold of your Church, and after this life to eternal happiness. So be it.
