Saint Thecle is invoked for the healing of bone diseases.
Saint Thecle was a young Roman virgin who was asked to renounce her faith in her Saviour Jesus.
She was martyred atrociously; she was tied to a pole and her limbs were broken one by one in several places. By a refinement of cruelty they allowed several hours to pass between each rupture.
But St. Thecle prayed and did not seem to suffer. She asked God for the grace to be able, after her death, to relieve the dying from the anguish of agony and to obtain for them a good death.
When her executioners, having witnessed her death, detached her from the pole, they were surprised and frightened to see that her body bore no trace of a blow and that her limbs were perfectly healthy without anyone seeing that they had been broken. Many people were converted at the sight of this miracle.

INVOCATION
Let our prayer rise to you, O Lord Jesus, so that it may become salutary to us through the intercession of Saint Thècle, may our death be holy like that of your blessed martyr, may her prayers and assistance accompany the last moments of all the dying, and that from now on she will effectively help us in all the troubles that afflict us. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Thècle, who is such a powerful advocate for sick bones, pray for us.

PRAYER
O my Jesus, covered with wounds on the tree of the cross, you in whom there is no longer any trace of beauty, and whose face is covered with the pallor of death: do that during all the time of my pilgrimage here below, I sincerely weep for my sins, and that my only desire is to be wounded with you, and nailed with you to your holy cross. So be it.
