Legend has it that Saint Ursula was the daughter of a Prince of Scotland and converted to faith in Jesus Christ. A Roman conqueror took her, she and a large number of young girls to give them as wives to his soldiers. But the Huns attacked the ships carrying them. The virgins, with Holy Ursula at their head, defended themselves valiantly, fell pierced by the arrows of the barbarians and flew into Heaven.
Saint Ursula is invoked to choose a state of life and to obtain a good death. It is also invoked to calm the heartbeat.

INVOCATION
Ô Dieu, qui avez rempli sainte Ursule d’une force admirable dans le sacrifice qu’elle vous a fait de sa vie, accordez-nous, ô mon Dieu, par ses mérites et ses prières, la grâce ineffable d’une mort semblable à la vôtre, afin que nous puissions être dignes des promesses de Jésus-Christ et de jouir éternellement avec elle du bonheur que vous nous avez préparé.

Nous vous en prions par Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ. Ainsi soit-il.
Sainte Ursule, espérance des agonisants et si puissante à nous secourir dans toutes nos peines, priez pour nous.
