Saints healing physical illnessesSaint Gilbert, who was Bishop of Meaux around the year 1000 and where his precious relics are venerated, was especially concerned with the salvation of souls. He fasted and prayed for the salvation of the world. He healed and blessed all who came to him. His charity was tireless. After his death, the sick continued to flock to his tomb and received all kinds of graces from it.
INVOCATION:
Deign, Lord, to listen with kindness to our prayers and our wishes, so that, struck by terrible sufferings and by plagues, because of our sins, we may nevertheless be healed and abundantly comforted by the prayers and merits of Saint Gilbert, your servant and pontiff. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Gilbert, whom we invoke effectively against dropsy and nervous diseases, pray without ceasing for us.
PRAYER:
Lord, subdue my passions by your grace and reign unchallenged over my heart, so that I may taste peace and happiness on earth, and that I may reign with you in heaven. So be it.
