For self-confidence

Saint Peter, remember the waters of Tiberias when Christ commanded you to join him on the waves. You have seen the power and glory, you have felt the grace of the immortal Word and you have also known the limits of the sinner of men.

Give me, O Apostle Peter, that I may be able to listen to the way of the Master on the waters; let me not sink, but like you, let me feel the arm of Jesus lift me up where I sink. Through your intercession, which knows no bounds, bind in me a spirit of firmness and trust. Command the angel guarding my weak and tormented soul to make known to me the grace of walking on what is fickle and clinging unswervingly to the rock of my salvation. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
