Saint Ludan is invoked against the extinction of voices.
He was born in Scotland around 1150; he was the son of Lord Hildbold, who left him a considerable fortune, with which he built a hospice for the poor and destitute travellers, which he endowed richly.
He began the pilgrimage to Rome and fell exhausted at the foot of a tree on the road from Colmar to Strasbourg.
He is counted among the patrons of Alsace where he is venerated in the Saint-Ludan church that was built to house his relics.

INVOCATION:
Lord, God of Hosts, who, being invisible to mortals, have deigned to appear to us, hear our humble supplication. Deign, Lord, to impart virtue to our remnant, so that whoever remembers us may part with us in the kingdom of heaven, and meanwhile enjoy the goods of this life; likewise, if anyone runs out of danger on the sea or on a river, and he calls on you in our name, let him be delivered from the peril. May others fall into sin and turn to You, Lord, through our weakness, grant them forgiveness of their trespasses. Finally, help, protect all those who will remember us and who will glorify you in us.
Saint Ludan, particularly invoked to keep the voice when it is necessary for us, pray for us.

PRAYER:
I bow down at your feet, O my divine Savior, I adore you, praise you, and bless you, and implore you. I glorify you, O Jesus! because being the Only Begotten of God, the Master of all things, purity and holiness itself, you have given yourselves to death, and to the death of the cross, for me, and for all other sinners; in order to deliver our souls from the bonds of sin. So be it.
