Psalm 107
1 Alleluia Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his love is eternal!
2 They will say it, the redeemed of Yahweh, whom he redeemed out of the hand of the oppressor,
3 which he gathered from among the countries, east and west, north and south.
4 They wandered in the wilderness and in the wilderness, and found no way to an inhabited city;
5 They were hungry, above all they were thirsty, their soul in them was failing.
6 And they cried out to Yahweh in distress; he delivered them out of their distress,
7 routed by a straight path to go to the inhabited city.
8 May they give thanks to Yahweh for his love, for his wonderful works for the children of Adam!
9 He satisfied the greedy soul, the hungry soul, he filled it with good things.
10 Dwellers of shadow and darkness, captives of misery and chains,
11 for having defied the order of God and despised the plan of the Most High,
12 he bowed their hearts in pain, they were succumbing, and not one to help them.
13 And they cried out to Yahweh in distress; he delivered them out of their distress,
14 he brought them out of darkness and darkness, and broke their shackles.
15 Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his love and his wonders for the children of Adam!
16 For he smashed the gates of brass and the bars of iron, and smashed them.
17 Fools in the ways of sin, miserable because of their sins,
18 all food disgusted them; they drew near to the gates of death.

19 And they cried out to Yahweh in distress; he delivered them out of their distress.
20 He sent his word, he healed them; he snatched their lives from the pit.
21 Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his love and his wonders for the children of Adam!
22 Let them sacrifice thanksgiving sacrifices, and repeat his works in songs of joy!
23 Going down to sea in ships, they traded among the great waters;
24 These have seen the works of Yahweh, his wonders among the depths.
25 He said and caused a gust of wind to rise, which lifted up the waves;
26 ascending to the heavens, descending to the depths, under evil their souls melted;
27 Spinning, staggering like a drunkard, their wisdom was completely swallowed up.
28 And they cried out to Yahweh in distress; he delivered them out of their distress.
29 He silenced the squall, and the waves ceased.
30 They were glad to see them calm down; he led them to the harbor of their desire.
31 Let them give thanks to Yahweh for his love and his wonderful works for the children of Adam!
32 Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people, in the council of the elders, let them praise him!
33 He turned rivers into a wilderness, and springs of water into thirst,
34 a land of saline fruits, because of the malice of the inhabitants.
35 But he turned the wilderness for a sheet of water, the dry land for a spring of water;
36 There he made the hungry to dwell, and they founded an inhabited city.
37 They sow fields, and plant vines, and bring forth fruit to be harvested.
38 He blesses them, and they grow greatly; he does not let their cattle decrease.
39 They were diminished, failing, under the grip of evils and sorrows;
40 pouring contempt on the princes, he lost them in a pathless chaos.
41 But he raises the poor out of their misery; he multiplies families like a flock;
42 righteous hearts see and rejoice, everything that lies with its mouth closed.
43 Is he a wise man? May he observe these things and understand the love of Yahweh!
