1 Hallelujah! Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his love is eternal!
2 Who can speak of the prowess of Yahweh, and shout out all his praise?
3 Happy are those who observe law, who practice righteousness at all times!
4 Remember me, Yahweh, for the sake of your people; visit me with your salvation,
5 May I see the happiness of your elect, joyful with the joy of your people, glorious with your inheritance!
6 We have failed with our fathers, we have turned aside, denied;
7 our fathers in Egypt did not understand your wonders. They did not remember your great love, they braved the Most High at the Sea of ​​Reeds.
8 He saved them because of his name, to make known his prowess.
9 He rebelled against the sea of ​​rushes, and it dried up; he led them over the deep as in the wilderness,
10 saved them from the hand of the enemy, redeemed them from the hand of the adversary.
11 And the waters covered their oppressors; not one of them escaped.
12 So they had faith in his words; they sang his praise.
13 They ran to forget his actions; they did not even wait for his plan;
14 They burned with desire in the wilderness; they tempted God in the desert.
15 He granted them their request; he sent feverishness to their souls;
16 They envied Moses in the camp, Aaron the holy one of Yahweh.
17 The earth opens up, swallows up Datan and covers Abiram's band;
18 A fire kindles against their band, a flame sets the renegades ablaze.
19 They made a calf in Horeb, and bowed themselves down to a molten iron;

20 They exchanged their glory for the image of the grass-eating ox.
21 They forgot God who saved them, the author of great things in Egypt,
22 of wonders in the land of Cham, of terror on the Sea of ​​Reeds.
23 He spoke of suppressing them, except that Moses his chosen one stood in the breach before him to divert his wrath to destroy.
24 They refused a land of delight; they had no faith in his word;
25 They murmured in their tents; they did not listen to the voice of Yahweh.
26 He lifted up his hand to cut them down in the wilderness,
27 to cut down their lineage among the heathen, to scatter them in the countries.
28 They put themselves under the yoke of Baal-peor and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29 They angered him by their practices; a plague broke out against them.
30 Then arises Pinhas, he cuts, then the plague stops;
31 righteousness is rendered to him from age to age and forever.
32 They angered him at the waters of Meribah; evil took to Moses through their fault,
33 for they embittered his mind, and his lips spoke too quickly.
34 They did not destroy the peoples which Yahweh had told them to do;
35 and they mingled with the Gentiles, they learned their ways.
36 They served their idols; they became a snare to them!
37 They had sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons.
38 They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, which they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was profaned with blood.
39 They defiled themselves by their deeds, they prostituted themselves by their practices;
40 Yahweh burned against his people; he hated his inheritance.
41 He delivered them into the hand of the heathen; their enemies became their masters;
42 Their adversaries were their tyrants; they were bowed down under their hand.
43 Time and time again he delivered them, but they rebelled out of bravado and fell into their wrong;
44 He glanced at their distress as he heard their cry.
45 He remembered his covenant for them; he was moved according to his great love;
46 he gave them to pity all those who held them captive.
47 Save us, Yahweh our God; gather us together from among the Gentiles to give thanks to your holy name, to congratulate us in your praise.
48 Blessed be Yahweh the God of Israel from ever to ever! And all the people will say, Amen!
