The morning and frequent recitation of this Psalm imputes a failure to the persecution linked by enemies and foils the oppression of the powerful, the rich and the hard-hearted and at the same time will bring them to a terrible end.
Psalm 74
74.1 Song of Asaph. Why, O God! do you reject forever? Why are you angry with the flock of your pasture? 74.2 Remember your people, whom you once bought, whom you redeemed as the tribe of your inheritance. Remember Mount Zion, where you made your residence; 74.3 Take your steps to these constantly devastated places! The enemy has ravaged everything in the sanctuary. 74.4 Your adversaries have roared in the midst of your temple; They established their signs for signs. 74.5 They have been seen, like one who lifts the ax in a thick forest; 74.6 And soon they broke all the carvings with axes and hammers. 74.7 They have set your sanctuary on fire; They have cut down, desecrated the abode of your name. 74.8 They said in their hearts: Let us treat them all with violence! They burned all the holy places in the land. 74.9 We no longer see our signs; There is no longer a prophet, And no one among us who knows how long ... 74.10 How long, O God! will the oppressor revile? will the enemy despise your name without ceasing? 74.11 Why do you withdraw your hand and your right hand? Take it out of your breast! destroy! 74.12 God is my King from ancient times, He who writes redemption in the midst of the earth. 74.13 Thou hast divided the sea by thy might; thou hast broken the heads of monsters in the waters; 74.14 Thou hast crushed the head of the crocodile; Thou hast given it to the people of the desert for food. 74.15 You have caused springs and torrents to gush forth. You have dried up rivers which do not run dry. 74.16 Yours is the day, yours is the night; You created the light and the sun. 74.17 Thou hast set all the limits of the earth; You have established summer and winter. 74.18 Remember that the enemy has reproached the LORD, and that a foolish people despise your name. 74.19 Give not the soul of your turtledove to beasts; do not forget the life of your poor forever. 74.20 Have regard to the covenant! For the dark places of the land are full of haunts of robbers. 74.21 Let the oppressed not return ashamed! May the unfortunate and the poor celebrate your name! 74.22 Arise, O God! defend your cause! Remember the insults that the fool does to you every day! 74.23 Do not forget the cries of your adversaries, the ever-increasing tumult of those who rise up against you!
