Saint Romanus of Condat is invoked for the drowned. The frenzied and the possessed are also recommended to his intercession.
Saint Romanus was raised in the Christian faith and his nature led him to isolate himself in a forest to be closer to his God. He attracted many young people to him, including his brother, and they led a monastic life.
Saint Romanus, who would have preferred the tranquillity of solitude, accepted the task of leading his monks with a firm and gentle hand and endeavoured to bring back to God the weak who had gone astray.

INVOCATION:
O God, who are our refuge in our sorrows, our strength in our weaknesses, our help in our tribulations, our joy and our consolation in afflictions and weeping; come, O my God, and assist us through the prayers of Saint Romanus, so that we may feel the effects of your mercy through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Romanus, powerful intercessor for all those who invoke you, pray for us.

PRAYER:
O holy Lamb of God! let me measure how happy my soul will be, when bathed in your blood, nourished by its blessings, full of heavenly thoughts and humble prayers, it will walk through the temptations and thorns of this life. By your blood, O Jesus! once arrived at the end of her pilgrimage, she will reap the sweet fruit of all her sorrows. I ask you again, O Jesus! give me the blessing of your blood; for he dispels all anxiety from the heart; he gives him here below a foretaste of the joys of heaven; it strips man of himself and makes him to be found only in God. So be it.
