Mercy Forgiveness for deceased for the dying Purification eternal life
O my beloved Sovereign, I thank you: so many times by my sins I have deserved hell, so many times you have delivered me from it. Unfortunate! There was a time when I was already condemned to this prison; already the sentence
- and maybe from my first sin
- would have been executed, if your mercy had not come to my aid. Yes, without waiting for my prayer, by the sole inspiration of your goodness, you have retained divine justice.
Then, triumphing over the hardness of my heart, you gently led me to gain confidence in you. And since then, oh! in how many other sins I would have fallen among the perils that I encountered, if, in your maternal love, you had not preserved me from me by the graces which you obtained for me! O heavenly Queen, continue to preserve me from hell. And of what use to me your mercy and the favors received from you, if I were to damn myself?
In the past, I might not like you; now, after God, I love you beyond the misfortune of turning my back on you and on this God who, through you, has dispensed me so much deserved favor. No, O my very lovely Sovereign, do not allow me to go to hell to hate and curse you eternally.
Will you suffer to see among the damned, one of your servants who loves you? I hear it, O Mayor: I am exposed to damnation, yes, but only if I abandon you. Ah! how can I have the heart to abandon you? How can I forget the love you have had for me? O my Mother, since you have done so much to save me, finish your work, continue your assistance to me. Do you promise me? But what am I saying? while I lived without thinking of you, you warned me of your favors. How much more can I hope now that I love you, and have recourse to you! No, no, we do not damn ourselves when we call on you. He alone is lost who does not ask you. Ah! my Mother, do not leave me to myself, for I would lose myself: always make me implore you. Save me, 0 my hope, save me from hell, and first of all from sin which alone can condemn me to hell.

Mercy comes from the Latin misereri which means to have mercy and cor (heart).
Mercy is the deep attitude of the being characterised by the loving disposition to forgive. Sensitivity to the misery and suffering of others and a fundamental benevolence towards one's neighbour. This is one of the attributes of God that explains his entire plan for the salvation of humanity.
God's goodness is infinite because it is one aspect of his mercy (Ps 86:5).

Losing a loved one is often a daunting ordeal.

Every day, through our activities and interactions with others and the environment, we get dirty in one way or another. Physically, we need to wash ourselves every day to cleanse ourselves, to remove all the dirt that would prevent us from feeling better.
