Understanding
Lord Jesus, who gave us a new commandment to love one another, grant me the grace to love all my brothers, considering that we all have the same hope, and that we all aspire to the same heritage: do that I take care to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
And that as one of your chosen ones, I be clothed with the bowels of mercy, of benignity, of humility, of meekness, of patient spirit; that I try to do good to all, to relieve the wretched, to help the weak, to console the afflicted: that I do not hide myself far from my flesh; that I serve as eyes for the blind, and as feet for the lame; that I forgive even my most cruel enemies; that I never regard the prosperity of others with envy, and their affliction with joy; that I do nothing out of contention and vain glory; that I consider all the others more excellent than me; that I endure the faults of everyone, and that I never return bad for bad, that my charity be sincere; that I never do to others other than what I would like to be done, and that my heart be right towards all; but do.
Lord, may I always care for the truth with charity; that I never unite my inclination with the wicked, that on the contrary I flee their commerce if I cannot bring them back; may it be my pleasure to be with the Saints and those who love you, in order to celebrate your praises with them; may my charity continue to increase, until it reaches the perfection of your Heaven. Amen.

Understanding between people is a very important element that conditions peace and cohesion. The Evil One knows this and always seeks to create divisions and conflicts. Satan knows that he has to rely on misunderstanding in his malicious aims. His main objective is therefore to destroy families. Because he knows that in the family, if there is mutual understanding between all family members, he will never succeed in any of his evil deeds. So he pits brothers and sisters against each other, children become disobedient and see their parents as enemies. Wars are created between families, neighbours, clans, countries, religions...
In order to prevent Satan, the terrible evil one before the Lord, from achieving his objectives of harm, we must seek to cultivate and perpetuate Understanding in our living environments, in our families, in our countries...
Prayer remains at the base, the only and most powerful weapon that can infuse us with the inner peace that will transform us, making each of us an instrument of peace that will spread understanding and harmony around us.
