Saints
Saint Christopher is invoked against sudden death, against the risks of dying without the sacraments and in penance. It is also invoked to be protected from lightning, hail, storms, tornadoes, cyclones and all strong winds. People afflicted with toothaches invoke it with confidence.
Everyone knows the story of Saint Christopher who, carrying a small child to take him across the river, suddenly believed he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. This little child was Christ.
Saint Christopher is the protector of travelers.
INVOCATION
Glorious martyr Saint Christopher, obtain, we beseech you, to all those who implore your mighty help, to be preserved from pestilences, epidemics, earthquakes, lightning and storms, fires and floods. Protect them against all providential punishments, whether of time or of Eternity. Deliver them from all sudden or unforeseen deaths and from all unfortunate endings. So be it.
Saint Christopher, who will obtain health of body and soul and preserve from all misfortune, pray for us who invoke you with complete confidence.
PRAYER
O suffering Jesus! My dear Savior, I desire nothing else in this fragile life, except to be crucified with you, and to be able to say with your Apostle: "I am crucified with Christ; I live, or rather it is not me but it is Jesus Christ who lives in me. "What good would it be for me to have come into this world if I did not kiss you on the cross, you my Redeemer, the Lamb of God, who bears the sins of the world; if I could not rest in your holy wounds, and receive them all in spirit, so that by the pain which they produce in my soul, they atone for all my sins, as they have already atoned for them in you, tormenting until death your innocent body. So be it.
