Saints healing physical illnesses Protection
Saint Camillus de Lellis is one of the most powerful advocates of the poor sick in agony. His protection is also invoked during operations.
Saint Camillus was born in 1550 in the kingdom of Naples. After an adventurous youth, he was struck by grace; he was 25 years old; he entered the Capuchins, but he could not stay there because of his state of health. He founded an Order of Nurses which proved to be very useful during the terrible epidemic of plague which ravaged Rome in 1590. Saint Camillus was not content to help the poor; he himself set out in search of the poor. He died holy on July 14, 1614, regretted by all.
INVOCATION
O God, who especially endowed Saint Camillus with the admirable gift of assisting souls in the last battles of agony, please grant us, by its merits, your spirit of love, so that t hour of our last passage, we deserved to overcome our enemy and achieve the heavenly crown. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Camillus de Lellis, be auspicious to us and deliver us from the perils of death, you who are the hope of the sick and the dying.
PRAYER
Good Jesus, keep me hidden in your life-giving wounds! Good Jesus, your wounds are my merits. Good Jesus, let me remain always in your heart and in the holy wounds of your hands and feet. Good Jesus, you will not refuse me this grace, since you have given me your blood and your life. So be it.
