Saints
Saint Caprasius was born in the 5th century. After a rather dissipated youth, he was touched by grace and, deeply repenting of his past errors, he threw himself into God with the same ardor which had once pushed him towards pleasures. It was to the monastery of Lérins, that he helped found, that he withdrew all in God. Its virtues and austerities were a salutary example for all monks.
Saint Caprasius is invoked to obtain healing from rheumatism and nervous diseases.
We come to honor him on pilgrimage, preferably on October 20, in the church of Chartève (Aisne) near his relics.
INVOCATION
Assist us, Lord, in our sufferings, through the merits of Saint Caprasius, so that we may obtain, through his intercession, relief in our sorrows, complete resignation to your holy will, perfect love for you, O my God, from whom we expect all good and all consolation. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Caprasius, whom the sick with rheumatism and nervous diseases do not invoke in vain, pray for us.
PRAYER
Good Jesus, wounded with five plagues, embalmed and buried, have mercy on me, and give me your peace. So be it.
