Psalm 66
1 From the singing master. Canticle. Psalm. Hail God, all the earth,
2 Sing to the glory of his name, give him his praise of glory,
3 Say to God: How dreadful you are! According to your strength, your works. Your enemies make themselves your flatterers;
4 all the earth boweth down to you, singing to you, singing for your name.
5 Come, see the deeds of God, dreadful in deeds for the sons of Adam
6 He turned the sea into dry land; they crossed the river on dry ground. There, our joy in him,
7 ruler of eternal power! With his eyes on the nations, he watches over the rebels so that they do not rise up.
8 Peoples, bless our God, give a voice to his praise,
9 who gives life to our souls and keeps our feet from stumbling.
10 Thou hast tried us, O God, as purified as one purifies silver;
11 You made us fall into the net, You hugged our loins;
12 you made a mortal ride at our head; we went through fire and water, then you made us catch our breath.
13 I come to your house with burnt offerings; I pay you my vows,
14 those who opened my lips, which my mouth spoke in my anguish.
15 I will offer you a fat burnt offering with the smoke of rams; with bulls and goats I will do it.
16 Come and hear, let me tell, all you god-fearing people, what he has done for my soul.
17 To him my mouth cried, praise already on my tongue.
18 If I had seen evil in my heart, the Lord would not have listened to me.
19 And yet God listened to me, attentive to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be God who did not put my prayer and his love away from me.
