We truly belong to the Lord,
he has the absolute rights over us
of the creator over his work.
But we belong to Jesus-Hostia
in a very sweet way,
and in a more intimate sense than to the Godhead.
The Lord has conferred on us
the rank of intelligent creatures
formed for his glory.
But our creation,
which was not necessary to Him,
has added nothing to his supreme felicity.
Instead of Jesus-Hostia existing
truly exists only for us...
and will remain on earth
as long as we inhabit it.
he is therefore, so to speak
as much ours as we are his.

Let's go deeper into what this truth
reveals of love and dedication,
and we will be touched to see Jesus-Hostie
living in the tabernacle for our happiness.
Let us live for his glory,
and let us not refuse to enter
and dwell with him
in the relationships of those
who live only for each other!
Let us compare His perpetual devotion to us,
the few moments
we devote to honouring his love.
Let us consider for whom we have lived,
to whom we are today:
To Jesus Christ or to the world?
Let us regret that we have made little effort
to come closer to Jesus-Hostia,
to show him the value
that we value his presence in the tabernacle.
Let us ask him to turn our eyes away from
our gaze from the creatures
whose esteem and applause we have longed for
and applause.
Let us ask him to withdraw our affections
from the passing world,
from the pleasures that fade away,
and to grant us entrance to his Heart.
Let us refresh at this source of love
the strength of our faith
the firmness of our hope,
the constancy of our love,
and let us ask him for our perseverance.
