O God, who is the Holy of Holies, holiness itself, sanctify me through your Spirit so that I may be able to enter into the inheritance prepared for your Saints and to see your face which cannot be seen without sanctification.
Enlighten me with these lights which proceed from your throne so that I discover all the deformities of sin. That I hate as a monster, as an abominable stain that has effaced your image, as the unbearable burden, under which all nature groans, and as my most dangerous enemy who crucified the Lord of glory.
Also point out to me the beauties of holiness which is a ray of your glory and a part of the bliss to which I aspire so that I earnestly desire to be holy as you are holy. Tear out my evil heart and give me a new one that burns with holy zeal and is ablaze with your love. Crucify this miserable flesh that I carry with its lusts so that I no longer live me, but that your Christ lives in me and that all my thoughts, all my words and all my actions be holy. That not only do I abhor the defilements of vice, but that I hate even the defilement of the least sin and refrain from all appearance of evil. Since your grace, beneficial to all men, has appeared so clearly to me. And do that, renouncing all impiety and worldly lusts, I live soberly, religiously and justly while awaiting the blessed apparition of your dear Son. Amen.
