Psalm 139
139.1
To the Chief Musician. From David. Psalm. Eternal! you probe me and you know me,
139.2
You know when I sit down and when I get up, You penetrate my thought from afar;
139.3
You know when I walk and when I lie down, And you penetrate all my ways.
139.4
For the word is not on my tongue, but already, O Lord! you know her completely.
139.5
You surround me from behind and from the front, And you lay your hand on me.
139.6
Such a wonderful science is beyond my reach, It is too high for me to grasp.

Where would I go from your spirit, and where would I flee from your sight?

If I ascend to heaven, you are there; If I go to bed in Hades, there you are.

If I take the wings of the dawn, And go and live at the end of the sea,

There also your hand will guide me, and your right hand will take hold of me.

If I say: At least darkness will cover me, The night becomes light around me;

Even darkness is not dark to you, night shines like day, and darkness like light.

It is you who formed my kidneys, who knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am such a wonderful creature. Your works are wonderful, And my soul recognizes it well.

My body was not hidden from you, When I was made in a secret place, Woven in the depths of the earth.

When I was only a shapeless mass, your eyes saw me; And on your book were all written The days that were meant for me, Before any of them existed.

How impenetrable your thoughts, O God! How many are there!

If I count them, they are more than the grains of sand. I wake up, and I am still with you.

O God, can you kill the wicked one! Blood men, get away from me!

They speak of you in a criminal way, They take your name to lie, them, your enemies!

O LORD, shall I not hate those who hate you, and loathe those who rise up against you?

I hate them with perfect hatred; They are enemies to me.
139.23
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Test me, and know my thoughts!
139.24
See if I'm on the wrong path, And lead me on the path to eternity!
