Novena to the Child Jesus for the healing of our childhood

At the end of each day, prayer from Léonce de Grandmaison (see at the end), then an Our Father, a Hail Mary, a Glory to the Father.
End with the invocation: Baby Jesus King of love, I trust you!

1st day
The Holy Spirit covers the Breast of Mary, God made man is here, on earth, in this virgin bosom.
Baby Jesus, come at the moment of my conception into my mother's womb. I present to you my father and my mother in this unique moment. You know all the circumstances. Innocent in my soul, every trace of refusal of life and desolation. With a divine kiss, embrace both my father and my mother, and may this new water refresh everything in its path.

Name out loud what you know about your conception: difficult circumstances, unexpected occurrence, conception in violence, in infidelity, in anger ... after a miscarriage, an abortion ...

2nd day
Child Jesus, little embryo, you became a fetus in the Breast of Mary. The mother’s treasures belong to the child, these treasures are mine. Visit my gestation in my mother's womb. May the beauty of your growth radiate its rays even on my little being. Month after month, caress, console, soothe my little being. It is in your arms of love that I want to deploy myself, on each of my wounds lay your pierced hands.

Name aloud all the circumstances that you know of your time in your mother's womb: family circumstances (refusal of this pregnancy, isolation….) Health (risk of miscarriages, illnesses, accidents) and all that comes down to your memory.

3rd day
Child Jesus, there was for you a day, a date, or from Mary's womb you came out, it is your birthday. In your virgin birth, there is no suffering. I dedicate my birth to you. Cover her, I beg you, with the peace of Christmas. May any memory of bitter pain, may any trauma due to the circumstances of my birth, be visited and appeased. Visit in me, all the emotions of these hours. Divine breath awakens in my soul the love of life.

Name out loud the circumstances of your birth: birth by caesarean section, forceps, advance, delay, cord around the neck, maternal or paternal suffering ...

4th day
Mary holds her baby in her arms, she breastfeeds him, rocks him and Saint Joseph watches over the child and his mother. It always had to be, but sin has broken the harmony of life. Baby Jesus, I dedicate the first months of my life to you until I walk. Remember everything for me: my first perceptions in my mother's arms, my father's voice. Also visit these first contacts with food and the environment. Visit me in my cradle and in my disappointed expectations when loneliness and fear have been felt.
Visit, I beg you, the first experiences of lack in my soul and my body.

5th day
Here you are on your feet, you trot in the house of Nazareth under the amazed eyes of Joseph and Mary. Their voices are so many caresses on your growing childhood. Peace and security are the ramparts of this home.
Child Jesus, I dedicate my first steps to you and the growing relationship with my parents. Visit my first impulses towards more autonomy, walking, cleanliness, language ... Visit all the exchanges, pleasures and annoyances. Visit what I see, what I touch, what I feel… the first sensations of the little child standing.

Name out loud anything you know from your first 3 years: accidents, delays, isolation, changes in the family (moves, deaths, jobs, etc.), illnesses….

6th day
Baby Jesus, you speak now, almost like a grown-up. You look at Joseph and how tall he is, you look at Mary, and how beautiful she is. You know, you are a little man, so with Joseph you learn to work on this human identity, and Adam finally rejoices to see himself soon fully restored.
Child Jesus, I devote all my eyes to you towards my father and my mother, I dedicate my identity to you, male or female. Visit I beg you, all the troubles of my personality, so that I become fully what I am.

Name out loud: Remember the place of your father and your mother, near, far ... who has authority ... Also remember your identity sufferings present in your adult life, their consequences in your relational life. Sentimental difficulties, (submission / domination), forced celibacy, blockages, failures, low esteem, devaluation….

7th day
Baby Jesus, you are 12 years old now. After leaving your parents at the temple in Jerusalem, to accomplish the mission that the father gave you, you come down to Nazareth, growing in wisdom and obedience.
I dedicate my own adolescence and all the inner torments of this soul night to you. Separating myself, growing up, knowing who I am, are all paths that I still sometimes seek in my life. Certain skids in this delicate conduct have left deep marks. Visit, I beg you, all the detours of my adolescence, when growing up scared me, when I felt helpless, vulnerable, and when I took, side roads. I know that in you, it's never too late to have a happy childhood.

Name out loud all the worries, fears, excesses of our adolescence. Remember all the painful circumstances, divorces, losses, shame, stories with our comrades, teachers….

8th day
Baby Jesus, here you are ready to go on a mission, equipped with love for another journey. You preferred to stay with Marie for a while longer, maybe to give us time to grow up. You know as for us, it is long and painful this way to leave the land of our parents. For a long time, in us, she cries and moans. Later you will say that you came not to bring peace, but the sword ‘(cf. Mt 10:34), what a strange word! But this sword separates in my soul, the old from the new, for you say it, unless the grain of wheat falls to the ground, it cannot bear fruit. Sometimes I still move forward with my past in front of me, what a dead end! My feet drag, my soul is heavy.
Baby Jesus, I beg you, come with your sword, cut the bad ties that hold me back and defend the good ones. I dedicate this time to you, the springboard of my adult life. Complete what must be completed, save what must be saved, restore what must be restored.

Name aloud and remember this passage to adulthood: the choices of this time, sentimental, professional orientation, meeting, life of faith ... all the events and feelings that animated this period of our life.

9th day
Consecration of all our Childhood, moving from infantilism to the spirit of childhood

Child Jesus, you tell us that only those who become little ones enter the Kingdom. I want to leave behind everything that has grown in me to become strong according to the spirit of this world. I was so scared, I was in so much pain, but I wanted to live so badly that I found here and there heavy weapons to defend myself. But today I see that they are a bulwark that prevents me from being free, and your rays of love, on its stones, collide. I lay all these weapons and their usefulness at your feet. I don't need it anymore, because I know that you are there, and that your Holy Innocence, is the best shield. I want to become a child of your Light, a child of God at the heart of this world. From this day, I give you my past without restraint, from this day, my past is past, and carried in your arms of love, I rush forward, confident, like a child snuggled on its mother's breast , to the Kingdom of Heaven. Thank you for leading me from my father on earth to my Father in heaven.
Child Jesus, I devote to you all this time that I have left on earth, make it a Christmas every day, so that on the evening of this life, I will be born painlessly, in the heaven of my eternity.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
keep me a child's heart,
pure and transparent as a source;
