31.1
(31: 1) To the Chief Musician. Psalm of David. (31: 2) Lord! I seek my refuge in you: May I never be confused! Deliver me in your righteousness!
31.2
(31: 3) Incline your ear to me, hurry to help me! Be for me a protective rock, a fortress, Where I find my salvation!
31.3
(31: 4) For you are my rock, my fortress; And because of your name you will lead me, you will lead me.
31.4
(31: 5) You will bring me out of the net which they have given me; Because you are my protector.
31.5
(31: 6) I commit my spirit to your hands; You will deliver me, O Lord God of truth!
31.6
(31: 7) I hate those who hold fast to empty idols, and I trust in the Lord.
31.7
(31: 8) I will be by your grace in gladness and in joy; Because you see my misery, you know the anguish of my soul,
31.8
(31: 9) And thou shalt not deliver me into the hand of the enemy; thou shalt set my feet wide.
31.9
(31:10) Have mercy on me, Lord! for I am in distress; My face, soul and body are worn out by grief.
31.10
(31:11) My life is consumed in pain, and my years in sighs; My strength is exhausted because of my iniquity, And my bones wither away.
31.11
(31:12) All my adversaries have made me a reproach, a great reproach to my neighbors, and a terror to my friends; Those who see me outside run away from me.
12.31
(31:13) I am forgotten in hearts like a dead man, I am like a broken vessel.
31.13
(31:14) I learn the bad words of many, The terror which reigns all around, When they concert together against me: They plot to take my life.
31.14
(31:15) But in you I trust, O Lord! I say: You are my God!
31.15
(31:16) My destinies are in your hand; Deliver me from my enemies and my persecutors!
31.16
(31:17) Make your face shine on your servant; save me by your grace!
31.17
(31:18) Lord, let me not be confused when I call on you. Let the wicked be ashamed, Let them descend in silence to Sheol.
31.18
(31:19) Let them become dumb, lying lips, Who speak boldly against the righteous, With arrogance and disdain!
31.19
(31:20) Oh! how great is your loving-kindness, which you reserve for those who fear you; how you testify to those who seek refuge in you, at the sight of the children of men!
31.20
(31:21) You protect them under the shelter of your face against those who persecute them; You protect them in your tent from the tongues that attack them.
31.21
(31:22) Blessed be the Lord! For he has signaled his grace to me, As if I had been in a strong city.
31.22
(31:23) I said in my haste: I am chased away from your gaze! But you heard the voice of my pleas, When I cried out to you.
31.23
(31:24) Love the Lord, you who have godliness! The LORD preserves the faithful, and severely punishes the proud.
31.24
(31:25) Be strong and let your heart be established, all of you who hope in the Lord!
