འུྃ༔ ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་རིའི་སྨོན་ལམ་དཔལ་རིའི་གསང་ལམ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས༔
The Secret Path to the Glorious Mountain: an aspiration prayer for the Glorious Copper Mountain

ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་བཛྲ་གུ་རུ་པདྨ་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ༔
རང་བཞིན་རྣམ་དག་བློ་བྲལ་གཉུག་མའི་སྦུབས༔
From the primordial state of natural purity, free from all concepts,
གསལ་མདངས་འགག་མེད་བདེ་སྟོང་ལོངས་སྐུའི་རྩལ༔
The sambhogakâya radiance of bliss and emptiness rises, uninterrupted,
སྤྲུལ་སྐུའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་མི་མཇེད་བཀོད་པའི་ཆ༔
As the field of nirmânakâya, part of our world of 'fearlessness':
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
འཛམ་གླིང་ས་ཡི་ལྟེ་བ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་གདན༔
The vajra seat, centre of this world of Jambudvîpa,
དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་བས་ཆོས་འཁོར་བསྐོར་བའི་གནས༔
Is the sacred place where the Buddhas of the past, present and future turn the wheel of Dharma;
དེ་ཡི་ནུབ་བྱང་རྔ་ཡབ་ལང་ཀའི་གླིང་༔
To the northwest is the land of Ngayap Langke Ling:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
བཀོད་པ་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཙིཏྟའི་ས་འཛིན་སྤོ༔
The spontaneously arranged mountain rises in the shape of a heart,
རྩ་བ་གདེངས་ཅན་འཇོག་པོའི་ཐོད་དུ་བཅིང་༔
Its base rests on the veiled head of the naga king,
སྐེད་པར་ལུས་མེད་མཁའ་འགྲོས་ཚོགས་འཁོར་བསྐོར༔
On its flanks a multitude of formless dâka and dâkinî celebrate the festival of tsok,
རྩེ་མོ་གཟུགས་ཁམས་བསམ་གཏན་སྙོགས་པ་ལྟའི༔
And its summit rises to the meditative recollections of the worlds of form:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
རི་རྒྱལ་དེ་ཡི་རྩེ་མོའི་གཞལ་མེད་ཁང་༔
On the summit of this queen of mountains is an unlimited palace;
ཤར་ཤེལ་ལྷོ་ཕྱོགས་དབང་སྔོན་བཻ་ཌཱུརྻ༔
Of crystal in the east, of lapis lazuli in the south,
ནུབ་ཕྱོགས་པད་རག་བྱང་ཕྱོགས་ཨིནྡྲ་ནི༔
Of ruby in the west and emerald in the north,
ཕྱི་ནང་བར་མེད་ཟང་ཐལ་དབང་གཞུའི་མདངས༔
Its sides are all transparent like a rainbow, without exterior, interior or middle:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
ཁྱམས་དང་གྲུ་ཆད་གློ་འབུར་འཇའ་རིས་འཁྱིལ༔
Passages, corners and parapets with rainbow contours,
འདོད་སྣམ་ཕ་གུ་དྲྭ་བ་དྲྭ་ཕྱེད་དང་༔
Terraces, walls and hangings decorated with fringes,
ཤར་བུ་མདའ་ཡབ་སྒོ་རྒྱན་རྟ་བབས་ཅན༔
Cornices, balconies, ornamented doors and stairs,
ཆོས་འཁོར་གདུགས་ཏོག་བརྡ་དོན་རྟགས་རྫོགས་པའི༔
Dharma wheel, parasols and fleurons, all perfect in identity, signs and symbols:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
དཔག་བསམ་ལྗོན་པའི་ཤིང་དང་བདུད་རྩིའི་ཆུ༔
Trees that grant all wishes, rivers of nectar,
ནེའུ་སིང་སྨན་ལྗོངས་དྲི་བསུང་འཐུལ་བའི་ཁྲོད༔
Green groves fragrant with the scent of medicinal plants
དྲང་སྲོང་རིག་འཛིན་བྱ་ཚོགས་བྷྲ་མ་ར༔
Where rishi, vidyâdhara, swarms of birds and bees
ཐེག་གསུམ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྒྲ་དང་བརྡ་གླུ་སྒྱུར༔
Resonate with the sound of the three Dharma vehicles and mystical chants:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
ཕོ་བྲང་གཞལ་མེད་ཆེན་པོའི་ལྟེ་བ་ལ༔
In the centre of the vast unlimited palace,
རིན་ཆེན་ཟུར་བརྒྱད་པདྨ་ཉི་ཟླའི་སྟེང་༔
On an eight-faceted jewel, a lotus, sun and moon seats,
བདེ་གཤེགས་ཀུན་འདུས་རང་བྱུང་པདྨ་འབྱུང་༔
Padmakâra appears naturally, union of all sugata
སྐུ་གསུམ་རིགས་འདུས་འཇའ་ཟེར་ཀློང་ན་བཞུགས༔
And personification of the three kâya, resplendent amidst an aura of rainbow lights:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
གང་གི་ཟབ་གསལ་བདེ་ཆེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྩལ༔
By your wisdom of great bliss, deep and bright,
སྟོང་ཉིད་སྙིང་རྗེར་ཤར་བའི་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་ལས༔
Emptiness manifests itself in compassion; from its magical unfolding,
ཕྱོགས་བཅུ་ཀུན་དང་ཁྱད་པར་བོད་ཡུལ་དུ༔
In all directions of space and especially in Tibet,
སྤྲུལ་བ་བྱེ་བ་ཕྲག་བརྒྱ་བར་མེད་འགྱེད༔
Billions of emanations gush forth without interruption:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
གཡས་ཀྱི་གྲལ་ན་རྒྱ་བོད་རིག་འཛིན་རྣམས༔
On your right are the vidyâdhara of India and Tibet,
འོད་གསལ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་རོལ་ངོར་འབྱམས་སུ་ཀླས༔
Fully immersed in the unlimited "vajra display of luminosity",
གཡོན་གྱི་གྲལ་ན་འཕགས་བོད་པ་གྲུབ་རྣམས༔
On your left are the ranks of the scholars and saints of India and Tibet,
བཤད་སྒྲུབ་ཉམས་རྟོགས་བགྲོ་གླེང་ཆོས་སྒྲ་འུར༔
Whose voices vibrate with the sound of the Dharma - teaching, practicing and discussing their experience and realization:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
མཐའ་བསྐོར་བར་མཚམས་རྗེ་འབངས་ཉེར་ལྔ་དང་༔
Around them and among them, the king and the subjects, the twenty-five disciples,
སྤྲུལ་པའི་གཏེར་སྟོན་གྲུབ་པའི་ཁྱུ་མཆོག་རྣམས༔
The tertön of the nirmânakâya, the rulers of the siddha
ཐེག་པ་རིམ་དགུའི་འཁོར་ལོ་ལ་སྤྱོད་ཅིང་༔
Practice the gradual cycles of the nine yâna
གཡོ་མེད་དགོངས་པའི་གཟེར་གྱི་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་འཛིན༔
And maintain the yogic way of life, the unruffled realisation, centred in one point:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
ཕྱོགས་བཞི་མཚམས་བརྒྱད་གྲུ་ཆད་བར་ཁྱམས་ཀུན༔
The four directions, the eight intermediate points, the angles and all the internal galleries
དཔའ་བོ་ཌཱཀྐི་ལྷ་དང་ལྷ་མོས་ཁེངས༔
Are filled with dâka, dâkinî, gods and goddesses
རྡོ་རྗེའི་གླུ་གར་མིག་འཕྲུལ་ལྟ་བུར་གཡོ༔
And their vajra dances and chants. All moving like mirages,
ཕྱི་ནང་གསང་བའི་མཆོད་སྤྲིན་སྟོབ་པར་བྱེད༔
They send out clouds of offerings outer, inner and secret:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
དེ་སྟེང་ལོངས་སྐུའི་གཞལ་མེད་བཀོད་མཛེས་ནང་༔
Above lies the boundless palace of the sambhogakâya, splendour itself,
ཕྱག་ན་པདྨ་འཇིག་རྟེན་དབང་ཕྱུག་ལ༔
Where Padmapanî, Lord of the world, presides
ཚོམ་བུའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་བསམ་ཡས་འཁོར་གྱིས་བསྐོར༔
Surrounded by an areopagus that surpasses understanding,
རྣམ་རྟོག་བག་ཆགས་དགྲ་གདོན་ཐལ་བར་བྱེད༔
Destroying completely discursive thoughts, habitual tendencies, enemies and negativity:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
དེ་སྟེང་ཆོས་སྐུའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་ཉམས་དགའ་བར༔
Above, on the pure joyful earth of the dharmakâya
གཞི་སྣང་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྙིང་པོ་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་༔
Abides Samantabhadra, the essence of wisdom, the appearance of the Base.
སྣང་མཐའ་རིག་པའི་འཁོར་ལ་བརྡ་ཆོས་སྟོན༔
He symbolically teaches Amitâbha, 'Infinite Light', the manifested disciple of himself of his own rigpa.
སྟོན་འཁོར་དགོངས་པ་མཉམ་པའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་ཅན༔
Master and disciple are equal in realisation and activity:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
སྒོ་བཞིར་བཀའ་ཉན་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་བཞི༔
At the four gates are the four great kings who keep their vows;
ཕྱི་ནང་གསང་བའི་ལྷ་སྲིན་སྡེ་བརྒྱད་ཀུན༔
The eight categories of gods and demons, outer, inner and secret,
ཕོ་ཉར་མངགས་ནས་མུ་སྟེགས་དམ་སྲི་འདུལ༔
Detached as emissaries, subjugate the tîrthika and transgressors.
དམ་ཅན་རྒྱ་མཚོ་དཔའ་རྟགས་རྒྱལ་རྔ་བརྡུང་༔
A sea of oath-bound protectors beat the victory drum to show their power:
ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་གྱི་རི་བོར་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we be born on this Glorious Copper Mountain!
དེ་ལྟར་ཞིང་གི་བཀོད་པ་གསལ་བཏབ་ནས༔
Thus, clearly visualising the details of this pure land
ཕྱི་རོལ་ཡུལ་གྱི་ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་རི་ལ༔
And by the power of this aspiration shaped by our inner will
ཡུལ་ཅན་ནང་གི་རིག་པས་སྨོན་དེའི་མཐུས༔
Towards our outer goal, the Glorious Copper Mountain,
རང་ལུས་མི་མཇེད་ཞིང་གི་བཀོད་པའི་ནང་༔
In this body, the unfolding of our world "Intrepidity",
རང་སྣང་ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་རིར་མངོན་པར་ཤོག༔
May all our perceptions be transformed, here and now, into the Glorious Copper Mountain!
ཁྱད་པར་བསྐྱེད་རྫོགས་ཟབ་མོའི་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་གྱིས༔
Then, when the nodes of the three channels and the five centres have been released
རྩ་གསུམ་འཁོར་ལྔའི་མདུད་པ་གྲོལ་ནས་ཀྱང་༔
By the interrelation of the deep phases of creation and completion,
སྙིང་དབུས་ཟངས་མདོག་དཔལ་རིའི་ཕོ་བྲང་ཆེར༔
And we have realised the power of the unfolding of innate wisdom
ལྷན་སྐྱེས་ཡེ་ཤེས་རོལ་པའི་རྩལ་རྫོགས་ནས༔
In the centre of our own heart, the great palace of the Glorious Copper Mountain
རང་རིག་པད་འབྱུང་རྗེ་དང་མཇལ་བར་ཤོག༔
May we meet Padmakâra, our own rigpa, face to face!
ཚོགས་སྦྱོར་མཐོང་སྒོམ་མི་སློབ་ལམ་ལྔའི་སྦུབས༔
The five paths of accumulation, preparation, vision, meditation and the one where there is nothing more to learn,
རབ་དགའ་ནས་བཟུང་ཀུན་ཏུ་འོད་ཀྱི་བར༔
The bhumi, from Perfect Joy to Universal Radiance,
དེ་ལས་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཐེག་པའི་ས་མཆོག་གཉིས༔
As well as the two supreme stages of Vajrayâna,
ཁྱད་པར་འོད་གསལ་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོ་ཡི༔
And in particular the Lama of Wisdom, the extraordinary level
ཐུན་མོང་མ་ཡིན་ཡེ་ཤེས་བླ་མའི་ས༔
Of Dzogpachenpo, the path of luminosity:
བྱར་མེད་ལྷུག་པའི་ངང་དུ་རྫོགས་ནས་ཀྱང་༔
May we accomplish them all easily and effortlessly,
གཞི་དབྱིངས་པདྨ་འོད་དུ་གྲོལ་བར་ཤོག༔
And so be liberated into the space of the Base, Lotus Light!
གལ་ཏེ་དགོངས་པའི་རྩལ་ཆེན་མ་རྫོགས་ན༔
But if we cannot reach the fullness of realisation,
གསོལ་འདེབས་སྨོན་ལམ་དྲག་པོའི་འཕེན་པ་ཡིས༔
By the power of our fervent prayers of aspiration,
ནམ་ཞིག་འཆི་བ་བཙན་ཐབས་བྱུང་བའི་ཚེ༔
When death comes in its full force,
པདྨའི་ཕོ་ཉ་མཁའ་འགྲོ་གར་མཁན་མས༔
May the messengers of Padma, the gracefully dancing dâkinî,
མངོན་སུམ་ལག་པའི་ཁུ་ཚུར་ནས་བཟུང་ནས༔
Take us by the hand,
མཁར་ཆེན་བཟའ་དང་གུ་ཎ་ནཱ་ཐ་ལྟར༔
Like Kharchen Za and Guna Natha,
བདག་ཀྱང་པདྨ་འོད་དུ་འཁྲིད་པར་ཤོག༔
And lead us to the paradise of Lotus Light!
ཆོས་དབྱིངས་རྣམ་པར་དག་པའི་བདེན་པ་དང་༔
By the truth of perfectly pure dharmadhâtu,
དཀོན་མཆོག་རྩ་གསུམ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཡིས༔
And by the compassion of the ocean of the Three Jewels and the three roots,
བདག་གིས་སྨོན་པ་ཡིད་བཞིན་འགྲུབ་གྱུར་ནས༔
May we fulfil all our aspirations as we wish
འགྲོ་བ་འདྲེན་པའི་དེད་དཔོན་བྱེད་པར་ཤོག༔
And become a guide for all beings!
