If you have been slandered so much that the king and the officers or the police have turned on you and take action to punish you, then get up very early in the morning and go to a field. Recite these two Psalms and their Holy Name seven times, then fast all day. The Holy Name of the first psalm is AHA and that of the second is HE, taken from the words (HASHA verse 14, AMARTI verse 2).
Psalm 38
38.1
(38: 1) Psalm of David. To remember. (38: 2) Lord! punish me not in your anger, and punish me not in your anger.
38.2
(38: 3) For your arrows have hit me, and your hand is heavy on me.
38.3
(38: 4) There is nothing healthy in my flesh because of your anger, there is no more vigor in my bones because of my sin.
38.4
(38: 5) For my iniquities are exalted above my head; Like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.
38.5
(38: 6) My wounds are filthy and purulent, Because of my madness.
38.6
(38: 7) I am bowed down, downcast to the last point; All day long I walk in sadness.
38.7
(38: 8) For a burning evil devours my bowels, and there is nothing healthy in my flesh.
38.8
(38: 9) I am without strength, completely broken; The turmoil in my heart makes me moan.
38.9
(38:10) Lord! all my desires are before you, and my sighs are not hidden from you.
38.10
(38:11) My heart is troubled, my strength forsakes me, and the light of my eyes is no longer even with me.
38.11
(38:12) My friends and acquaintances move away from my wound, and my relatives stay away.
38.12
(38:13) Those who want my life set their traps; Those who seek my calamity speak wickedness, and contemplate deceit all day long.
38.13
(38:14) And I, I am like a deaf person, I do not hear; I am like a mute who does not open his mouth.
38.14
(38:15) I am like a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth there is no reply.
38.15
(38:16) Lord! it is in you that I hope; You will answer, Lord, my God!
38.16
(38:17) For I say, Do not allow them to rejoice over me, that they rise up against me, if my foot is shaken!
38.17
(38:18) For I am near to fall, and my pain is always before me.
38.18
(38:19) For I know my iniquity, I fear because of my sin.
38.19
(38:20) And my enemies are full of life, full of strength; There are many who hate me without a cause.
38.20
(38:21) They return evil to me for good; They are my adversaries, because I seek the good.
38.21
(38:22) Do not forsake me, O Lord! My God, don't get away from me!
38.22
(38:23) Come quickly to my help, Lord, my salvation!
Psalm 39
39.1
(39: 1) To the Chief Musician. In Jeduthun, Psalm of David. (39: 2) I said: I will watch over my ways, lest I sin with my tongue; I will put a brake on my mouth, As long as the wicked one is in front of me.
39.2
(39: 3) I remained silent, in silence; I am silent, although unhappy; And my pain was no less sharp.
39.3
(39: 4) My heart was burning within me, An inner fire consumed me, And the word came on my tongue.
39.4
(39: 5) Lord! tell me what is the end of my life, What is the measure of my days; Let me know how fragile I am.
39.5
(39: 6) Behold, thou hast given unto my days the breadth of my hand, and my life is like nothing before thee. Yes, any standing man is but a breath. -Pause.
39.6
(39: 7) Yes, man walks like a shadow, He stirs in vain; He collects, and he does not know who will collect.
39.7
(39: 8) Now, Lord, what can I hope for? In you is my hope.
39.8
(39: 9) Deliver me from all my transgressions! Do not repay me the reproach of the fool!
39.9
(39:10) I remain silent, I do not open my mouth, For it is you who act.
39.10
(39:11) Turn your blows away from me! I succumb under the attacks of your hand.
39.11
(39:12) You chastise man by punishing him for his iniquity, You destroy like moth what he holds dear. Yes, every man is a breath. -Pause.
39.12
(39:13) Hear my prayer, O Lord, and listen to my cries! Don't be insensitive to my tears! For I am a stranger to you, An inhabitant, like all my fathers.
39.13
(39:14) Look away from me, and let me breathe, Before I go and be no more!
