Saints healing physical illnessesSaint Maudez is invoked to be preserved or healed from snakebites. It is also invoked on behalf of children "who do not become", that is to say, who are wasting away, and against leukemia. Saint Maudez was a warm and gentle priest to the unfortunate. He exercised his ministry in Brittany where he is still honored. He ended his life in Saint-Mandé, near Paris, after having spread around him the treasures of his charity.
INVOCATION:
O good Jesus and merciful Savior, I beg you and conjure you, through the merits and the intercession of Saint Maudez, to preserve or heal me not only from the bite of snakes, but also to have regard to the prayers that I have to you. address in his name for our sick children. May your goodness, O my God, glorify your illustrious servant without ceasing. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Maudez, who deprive snakes of the power to harm us, and who heal our children of all wasting away, pray for us.
PRAYER:
How foolish I would be if I still let my heart cling to this world and to creatures, when you, my creator and my God, desire it, in order to possess it for all eternity! Oh ! it must not be mine anymore; but it must be like intertwined with yours, and always rest in you. It belongs to you: for you created it for yourself, and you bought it with your blood. It is far more advantageous for him to remain at the foot of your cross, wounded with your wounds, and watered with your blood, than to taste the vain joys of this world, and to let himself be carried away by the river of eternal curses. So be it.
