Virgin Mary, Mother of God
you are the fullness of love,
the pure offering that reserved nothing for itself
you are the "yes" that was never withdrawn,
the total response to infinite love.
Because you recognised your total dependence,
God gave you the perfect freedom of love.
Because you were nothing but humility,
God filled you with his splendour.
Because you were nothing but faithfulness,
God completed his likeness in you.
Your death was a moment of unspeakable joy.
At a stroke, your charity pierced the veil
that still separated you
from the One who had so ardently burned your heart.
Your love burst forth in the face-to-face vision.
