Marcel Van (Vietnam, 1928-1959) suffered greatly at the hands of violent or unworthy priests during his childhood and religious training. But from these wounds sprang mercy and prayer for all priests.
O Jesus, we pray you, reign in the hearts of priests.
May your Love penetrate freely into the innermost depths of their hearts, and may they be totally given over to your Love.
Give them a burning zeal to extend your reign and plunge the whole earth into the blaze of your Love.
May they draw close to you to console you and protect you from the wounds inflicted on you by priests who have strayed far from you.
O Mary, protect those of whom you are the mother, cast your compassionate gaze upon them, help them to overcome all the obstacles they must overcome.
O Jesus, teach us to love you for those priests who do not love you enough, and receive the gift of our lives so that, following in Van's footsteps, we may become a vital force for your priests.
