I put on the helmet of salvation
to dwell in the victorious grace of my baptism
and radiate it around me to all.
I put on the breastplate of justice (holiness)
to keep me from all erroneous or evil thoughts
from all fear and anxiety,
from any physical illness or disease.
I put on the belt of truth in order to be true
at all levels of my being.
I put on the sandals of the Gospel of peace,
that I may be a messenger of the good news.
I grasp with one hand the shield of Faith,
to quench the fiery darts of the Enemy;
and with the other hand the sword of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God,
to advance steadfastly in his light. Amen.
"Let baptism be your shield, faith your helmet, charity your spear
as your helmet, charity as your spear, perseverance as your armour; the reserves of your pay are your good deeds, which will enable you to receive the sums deserved. "
