Invocation to Saint Clement I or Clement of Rome for sick children

Saint Clement, pope and martyr, lived in the first century of the Christian era. We recommend sick children to him.
Saint Clement was born in Rome and very early converted to the Christian religion. Full of faith and zeal, he powerfully helped the apostles in their evangelizing mission, became bishop, then pope.
Exiled under Emperor Vespasian to a land where Christians were condemned to mines, he raised their courage and sustained their faith. One day, when there was no water, he prayed to God and saw an all-white lamb showing him with its foot a spring springing up not far from there. Many were his miracles; so in a short time the country became entirely Christian. Furious at these conversions, the then reigning Emperor Trajan had him cast an anchor around his neck into the sea.
Legend has it that praying Christians on the beach saw the sea recede more than a league and reveal a marble chapel serving as the tomb of Saint Clement.

INVOCATION
O Jesus, whom I adore under the amiable title of the salvation of the children, who have loved them with so much tenderness and showered with your caresses, grant that the intercession of Saint Clement obtains for them, with the health of the body, grace more precious to keep their innocence. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Clement, who especially protect the children entrusted to you, pray for us.

PRAYER
O Jesus, good shepherd and tender Father, bring back to your fold this lost sheep, call this prodigal son back to your house. Why is he running away from you, this rebellious son whom I wanted to devote to you without sharing? Ah! May he finally hear your voice, may he open his eyes to your light, may he throw himself into the arms of your mercy like another Augustine, may he embrace the rigors of penance like Madeleine, to whom you have remitted so many sins. Holy Virgin, who sought your divine Son with such eagerness, run in search of mine; be the happy star that brings him back to the port of salvation. So be it.
