Prières de demande ou requête
La demande ou requête, sens propre du mot «prière», par laquelle nous exposons des besoins, requérant de la part de Dieu ce qui nous fait défaut.
Comme croyants, nous ne demandons pas ce qui nous est déjà donné en grâce, ce que nous avons en Christ, comme par exemple la paix avec Dieu ou le pardon de nos péchés, car pour le croyant, ces choses sont acquises. Par contre, nous pouvons demander qu’il nous en accorde la jouissance, que nous en goûtions toujours plus les effets. «Exposez vos requêtes à Dieu par des prières... et la paix de Dieu, laquelle surpasse toute intelligence, gardera vos coeurs et vos pensées dans le Christ Jésus» (Phil. 4:6). «Si vous demandez quelque chose en mon nom, moi, je le ferai» (Jean 14:14).
