Psalm 89
1 Poem. From Etân the native.
2 The love of Yahweh I sing forever, from age to age my word proclaims your truth.
3 For you said, love is built for ever, the heavens you found your truth in them.
4 "I made a covenant with my chosen one, I swore to David my servant
5 For ever have I founded your lineage; I will build you a throne from age to age. "
6 The heavens give thanks for your wonderfulness, Yahweh, for your truth in the assembly of saints.
7 Who then in the clouds is compared to Yahweh, is like Yahweh among the children of the gods?
8 God fearful in the council of saints, great and terrible to all around him,
9 Yahweh, God of Sabaoth, who is like you? Almighty Yahweh, surround your truth!
10 It is you who master the pride of the sea, when its waves are lifted up, it is you who calms them;
11 It is you who split Rahab like a corpse; you scatter your adversaries with your arm of might.
12 Heaven is yours, the earth also, the world and its contents; you founded them;
13 the north and the south, you created them; Tabor and Hermon cry out for joy to your name.
14 Thine arm and his prowess, mighty is thy hand, sublime is thy right hand;
15 Justice and Law are the support of your throne, Love and Truth go before your face.
16 Blessed are the people who know the cheer! Yahweh, in the light of your face they will go;
17 in your name they rejoice all day long; in your righteousness they are exalted.
18 You are the shining of their power; in your favor you exalt our strength;
19 for Yahweh is our shield; to him, Holy One of Israel, is our king.
20 Long ago in a vision you spoke and said to your friends, "I have given assistance to a valiant, I have exalted a younger of my people.
21 I have found David my servant, and anointed him with my holy oil;
22 for him my hand will be firm; my arm will also make him strong.
23 The adversary cannot deceive him, the wicked cannot overwhelm him;
24 I will crush his attackers and his enemies before him; I will strike them down.
25 My truth and my love with him, his strength will be exalted by my name;
26 I will establish his hand over the sea, and over the rivers his right hand.
27 He will call me, You, my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation!
28 so that I will make him the eldest, the most high over the kings of the earth.
29 I keep my love for him forever; my covenant is true for him;
30 I have established his lineage forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
31 If his children forsake my law, do not walk according to my judgments,
32 if they profane my precepts and do not keep my commandments,
33 I will visit their sin with rods, their wickedness with stripes,
34 but without withdrawing my love from him, without failing in my truth.
35 I will not profane my covenant, nor will I take the breath away from my lips;
36 Once I swore by my holiness to lie to David, never!
37 His lineage will be forever, and his throne like the sun before me,
38 as the moon is forever founded, a true witness in the cloud. "
39 But you rejected and repudiated; you were angry with your anointed;
40 Thou hast denied the covenant of thy servant; thou hast profaned his crown to the ground.
41 Thou hast broken up all its fences; thou hast destroyed its strongholds;
42 all the passers-by looted him, his neighbors insulted him.
43 Thou hast given the upper hand to his attackers; thou hast made all his adversaries rejoice;
44 you have broken his sword against the rock, you have not supported him in battle.
45 Thou hast taken away his scepter of splendor, and cast down his throne to the earth;
46 you cut short the days of his youth, spread shame on him.
47 How long, Yahweh, will you be hidden? Until the end? Will your anger burn like a fire?
48 Remember me, how long is my life? For what nothing have you created the sons of Adam?
49 Who then shall live without seeing death, and withdraw his soul from the claw of Sheol?
50 Where are the first fruits of your love, Lord? You swore to David on your truth.
51 Remember, Lord, that I have insulted your servant in my midst all the features of the peoples;
52 so your adversaries, Yahweh, have insulted, so insulted the traces of your anointed one!
53 Blessed be Yahweh forever! Amen! Amen!

There are 150 psalms in the Bible and they are attributed to King David. According to some beliefs, each psalm has a key, a secret, which, when used with the psalm, can solve a specific problem.

Human beings are in a constant struggle on all levels against the forces of darkness, against the elements of nature and against their fellow human beings.
The psalms can be used by humans in this perpetual struggle against the forces of evil. With the psalms we can praise God, ask for the prosperity of the earth's goods, implore graces and blessings, ask for protection against enemies, defeat enemies, cure physical and spiritual illnesses, ask for help in court trials, for good luck, to ask for God's help in all circumstances, against fire, storms, storms, to have a good journey, etc.
It is important to know, as in everything we can undertake, to have FAITH. For FAITH lifts mountains. With faith, everything can succeed, whatever the obstacles.
