Saint Leocadia lived in the 7th century. Daughter of modest parents, she distinguished herself very young by her piety and her love of the poor. Often, during prayers in her room, her parents would surprise her in ecstasy while a bright supernatural light filled the room. Her parents therefore put no obstacle in the way when she confessed to them her desire to consecrate her life to the service of God.
She performed many miracles and all those who turn to her are sure to receive help and consolation.
Saint Leocadia is especially invoked against strangulated hernias.

INVOCATION:
O God, who rejects no one, but by great mercy lets you touch in favor of the greatest sinners when they do penance, listen favorably to the prayers we offer you in our misery. May Saint Leocadia, whose martyrdom you crowned with glory and the most admirable gifts, become for us, who invoke her with love and trust, a source of all the temporal and spiritual goods that we hope from your goodness, through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Léocadia, protect us and all those dear to us, and fill us with all the goods that can ensure our happiness.

LET US PRAY:
O my soul, image of God, tenderly love thy crucified Savior... For you the Man-God shed his blood, this blood so precious that he would not have given a single drop for all that the universe contains. So be it.
