Saint Edmund teaches us how to save ourselves from the misfortune of sudden death, as God himself taught him.
Raised in the love of Jesus, one day he met a boy of his age who said to him: "Hail, dear Edmund, don't you recognize me?" And as Edmond told him he must be wrong, the child said to him: “I am next to you every day, at school and everywhere; look at my name on my face. " And Saint Edmund read: “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews”. The divine Child then said to him: "Engrave this name in your heart, imprint it at night on your forehead, it will protect you from sudden death, as well as all those who will do the same."
He healed all who approached him, saying, "May your Lord Jesus Christ heal you."
Saint Edmund is particularly honored in Provins (Seine-et-Marne) where his relics are.

INVOCATION
O Jesus, who deign to take delight in being with the children of men; May your adorable name be our salvation to all, that we may praise you forever? O Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.
Saint Edmund, who preserve us, by your assistance and your prayers, from an unhappy death, pray for us.

PRAYER
I adore you, revere you and glorify you, Most Holy Trinity, Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: I submit myself entirely to the orders of your holy will. Eternal God, take away from me and from all your faithful servants that which may displease you, and give to us whatever pleases you. So be it.
