Novena for deceased
What do you regret, holy souls in Purgatory, for the land you left?
I regret the wrong done. It once seemed so light and pleasant to me. I stifled remorse in the midst of the pleasures. Now her weight overwhelms me, her bitterness torments me, her memory pursues me and tears me apart.
Ah! if I could come back to life. No promise, no pleasure, no wealth, no seductive word would be able to commit me to commit the smallest sin.
O you who still have the freedom to choose between God and the world, look at the thorns, the Cross, the flames which tortured the Heart of Jesus; they will tell you how much our sins have cost Him in suffering.

I regret the little charity I have had on earth for the souls in Purgatory. I could have been so useful to them in my lifetime! Prayers, alms, good works, Communions, devotion to the Sacred Heart; what means did I not have to console these poor souls, held captive in this sojourn of suffering.
Ah! if I could return to earth, what holy Masses would I not hear! How many would I not celebrate for all these forgotten souls! What prayers would I not address to Heaven for them! You still can ...

Love your priests and pray for them. Love your bishops and your Pope, they are gifts from God to lead you to Heaven.

We regret not having loved Mary enough, the Blessed Mother of God. It is a short cut to lead us on the path to the Heart of Jesus. She is a powerful lawyer because she cannot bear to see these children in Purgatory.
Consecrate yourself to God through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, she will protect you from the pitfalls of the demons. Pray the holy Rosary and trust it. Also place your children and all your families under her maternal protection.
