Saint Rita
O glorious Saint Rita, in obedience to your parents, you accepted a husband
and you became a true model of a Christian wife.
Here I am at your feet to open my heart to you,
I who need God's help and your protection.
You who for years, without having deserved it, have suffered in your married life,
obtain for me from the Lord the strength to remain faithful to God and to my husband.
Protect us, sanctify our work and bless what we undertake
so that everything may be done for the glory of God and our common good.
May nothing disturb our harmony.
O holy Rita, may prosperity reign in our house,
may the angels of peace watch over it, may all malignant discord disappear, may charity reign there
and may that love never fail which unites two hearts and binds two souls saved by the most pure blood of Jesus.
O holy Rita, bring our prayer before the Lord
and may my husband and I, when the time comes
be in Heaven to praise God.

Saint Rita of Cascia is frequently invoked in prayer to bring harmony and peace to the couple.
Saint Rita was married by her parents to a man of high social standing. She accepted this situation without hesitation, trusting in God and her parents. However, this husband was violent and treated Rita casually.
Rita suffered from this behaviour and the lack of tenderness. Far from complaining or seeking revenge, she undertook instead to soften her husband and bring him to respect the Christian attitude that two spouses should have for each other.
By dint of patience and love, Rita succeeded in calming her husband's character. The couple got along well and were happy together.
This episode of her life has made Saint Rita the Saint of couples and families. She is implored by couples who are experiencing difficulties in their married life, as well as by neglected or abused wives.
