(64: 1) To the Chief Musician. Psalm of David. (64: 2) O God, listen to my voice, when I moan! Protect my life from the enemy I fear!

(64: 3) Protect me from the plots of the wicked, From the noisy troop of the wicked!

(64: 4) They sharpen their tongues like a sword, they shoot their bitter words like darts,

(64: 5) To shoot the innocent in secret; They shoot him unexpectedly, and have no fear.

(64: 6) They are strong in their wickedness: They consult together to lay snares, They say: Who will see them?

(64: 7) They plan crimes: Here we are ready, the plan is conceived! Inner thought, everyone's heart is an abyss.

(64: 8) God throws his dashes against them: Suddenly they are struck down.
