Saint Avoye was a pure and pious young girl, brought up in the Christian religion. Denounced as such, she courageously refused to deny her faith in Jesus Christ. She was martyred in 250.
We invoke Saint Avoye for the protection of small children and also for children who are slow to walk.
In Brittany there was a fountain of Saint Avoye where children were plunged to make them walk.
Saint Avoye is also invoked for hardened sinners.

Invocation:
O God, who are glorified in the assembly of all the holy martyrs, accept our humble prayers, so that we deserve to be helped by the glorious intercession of Saint Avoye, that she obtains for us from your kindness the graces that we ask for with fervor and confidence. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Avoye, the hope of sick children and hardened sinners, pray without ceasing for us.

Prayer:
O my crucified Jesus! Deign to choose my soul for your bride, and unite her completely: then nothing in the world will be able to separate me from you. I want to keep my faith for you as long as I live on this earth. If I had, oh my Jesus! the nails with which they fastened you, for my salvation, on the cross, and the spear with which they pierced your heart, I would like to hurt myself for the love of you; but since I do not possess them, and since I cannot be hurt by them like you, I humbly offer you this desire as a testimony of my love and my gratitude. So be it.
