Saint Wasnon is generally invoked for the healing of patients with the spleen.
Saint Wasnon, was a monk in the 7th century of Irish or Scottish origin. He had come to evangelize the north of Gaul, in particular Hainaut, whose population had more or less returned to paganism, a consequence of the disorganization of the Church following the barbarian invasions, notably Frankish.
The life of Saint Wasnon is shrouded in mysteries and little is known about him. Saint Wasnon would have fled his homeland because of the persecutions, in the company of his brothers: Gobain (become Saint Gobain), Algis (become Saint Algis), Eloque, Boélian and Momble. He arrived in Condatum (or Condate) around the year 633 At the time, the territory of the city was an uninhabited place in the woods. Saint Wasnon built there at the top of a wooded hill a small oratory under which he was buried at his death, which occurred in the year 677. On this site, later, Notre-Dame de Condé was erected the parish church placed under his invocation.

INVOCATION:
O infinitely good God, who gave us, in Saint Wasnon, a powerful protector, we have recourse to you in the danger which threatens us. Do not stop the gentle influences of heaven because of our sins, but, calming your righteous anger, effectively help us. By N-S. AD So be it.
Saint Wasnon, who preserve us from diseases of the spleen, pray for us and assist us in danger.

PRAYER:
O good Jesus! deign, I beg you, to offer to your Father, for his glory and for our salvation, all the ill-treatment that you were kind enough to suffer for us during your passion. So be it.
