Saints Protection lawsuitSaint Nicholas is invoked against fires and to be preserved from death by fire. He still has a special gift, to deliver the innocent from the hand of judges and from the power of those who unjustly oppress them. He has great power to save from the perils of the sea. INVOCATION:
Grant our prayers, Almighty God, to honor you perfectly with the homage we pay to Saint Nicholas. Be eternally blessed and praised for having showered him with your gifts, and for giving him to us as such a powerful and loving protector. My
God, do not confine your goodness to the past; extend it to the present and to the future. We beseech you, through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Nicholas, who preserve fire, who assist in the perils of the sea, who help us to return to our honor and our goods, pray for us.
PRAYER:
O my God, you hide yourselves from those who fear you, to let yourself be found by those who hope in you; you move away from those who seek you in order to get closer to those who are not repelled by your distance. Those who depart from you will perish, but those who await you will not be deceived in their desires. Those who have your fear hope in you, because you are their protector and their support. It is through fear that we come to love. As a master, you must be feared; as a father, you must love yourself. Your salutary fear is desirable, because it is through it that those who are fortunate enough to be imbued with it, persevere in good. Nothing is lacking in those who fear you, because your eyes are always fixed on them, and your ears are always open to their prayers. O God, father of mercies, my refuge, my protector and my deliverer! fill me with your fear, but let it be sustained by love; penetrate my heart with holy fear, to increase in me the desire to possess you, and so that I may share in the happiness which you grant to those who fear you and who keep your laws, so that the submission inspired by fear make me worthy of the grace of your love.
