Saints healing physical illnessesSaint Mark was born in Galilee. He was the faithful companion of Saint Peter. It was under his inspiration that he wrote the Gospel that bears his name. Saint Mark received from Saint Peter the mission to evangelise Egypt and several African provinces. It was especially in Alexandria that Saint Mark spread the Christian faith. The pagans, furious at his influence, tied a rope around his neck and dragged him to a place full of pebbles and rocks. When he was taken back to his prison, he had the joy of seeing Jesus as he had known him. The next day, strengthened, he was subjected to the same torture. The Lord, having great pity on him, put an end to his life there. He died saying very loudly, "Lord, I commend my soul into your hands. "This happened on the 25th of April in the year 68.
INVOCATION:
O God, who, through your inestimable charity for men, want us to be called your children, and indeed to be so, grant us, through the merits of Saint Mark, your evangelist, to receive the pledge of life immortal by being preserved from the dreadful misfortune of final impenitence; may this holy apostle assist us in particular every day of our life. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Mark, who has a special grace to protect us from kidney failure, pray without ceasing for us.
PRAYER:
Good Jesus, unjustly condemned to death by the assembly of the Jews, handed over as a criminal to Pilate, despised and ridiculed by Herod, have mercy on me, Lord, have mercy on me. So be it.
