Saint Gregory was first a senator in Autun in the 6th century. Then, after the death of his wife, touched by grace, he devoted his days to God.
His virtues and his high qualities designated him to be bishop of Langres. He was one of the great bishops of this semi-pagan 6th century. He brought many souls to God, made his diocese prosper spiritually, helped the poor and the sick, and did many healings.
Legend has it that when he got up at night to pray at the foot of the altar, angels opened the door of the church to him. When he died in 541, an epidemic of fever ended thanks to his intercession.
Saint Gregory is invoked against fever and tetanus.

INVOCATION:
You are righteous, Lord, in your judgments, and all your ways are mercy.
Remember me by the merits of Saint Gregory; may his prayers obtain my healing, so that I may serve You with all my heart, O my God, and bless You throughout all eternity. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Gregory, who deprives the fever of the power to harm us, pray for us and help us.

Hail, O holy Cross, my light and my strength! hello, place of my redemption, my salvation and my glory! hello, O holy Cross, my refuge and my shelter! hello, sign of grace, consolation of the afflicted, impregnable wall against the power of the evil spirit! hello, standard of peace, consecrated by the holy body of Jesus, and adorned with its sacred limbs like precious stones! So be it.
