Saint Vitus, born in Sicily from a pagan family, was educated in the Christian religion by his tutor Saint Modestus and his nurse Saint Crescentia.
All three, denounced as disciples of Jesus Christ, were martyred.
Saint Vitus performed great miracles, he healed his torturers, he drove out a demon who possessed the body of the son of Diocletian. Thrown to the lions, they came to lick his feet.
In 303, after many sufferings, Saint Vitus and his two companions returned to God their souls that flew up to heaven.
Saint Vitus, who was only twelve years old, assured the witnesses of his martyrdom that through his intercession and the intercession of his blessed associates, all that would be asked of God for his salvation would be obtained, especially the healing of dental abscesses.

INVOCATION:
My soul was plunged in pain and rejected all consolation. I remembered God and his holy martyrs. I called on Saint Vitus, and his blessed associates, and this blessed name filled me with consolation. Hear me, O my God, and I will proclaim your righteousness and the saving help which you have given me without ceasing. We bless you, O my God, through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Vitus, whose protection is felt by all those who invoke you, pray for us.

PRAYER:
O sweet husband of my soul! I want to participate in the spirit of your cross, and to train myself to open myself entirely to the world and to the flesh, in order to be ever more like you. I therefore seriously renounce any movement of the heart that is not inspired by your love.
May my thoughts always be on you to admire and worship you; may my lips open only to announce your praises; may my hands be always occupied in collecting at the foot of your cross those precious virtues which there grow so well under the dew of your adorable blood, humility, gentleness and simplicity; may all the ardor of my mind strive only to learn and grasp your divine teachings; that I have activity only to renounce myself, to carry my cross and to follow you in turmoil and confusion, in privation and neglect, in suffering and even in death; may all my work be to learn the precious art of always sanctifying myself by the virtues of which you have given us the example, by meditation, obedience, poverty and love, virtues that we do not learn from you, O Jesus! at your school, on Calvary.
Day and night I want to read deep in my heart and fulfill your holy law, which you have written with your precious blood; because, since you have suffered so much for me, it is right that I embrace your cross with all its bitterness with my love. I want to drink from the chalice of your passion all my life, knowing that deep down there is the sweetest peace for time and for eternity. So be it.
