+ In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Psalm 50: Renew my mind
3 Have mercy on me, my God, in your love, according to your great mercy, efface my sin. 4 Wash me completely from my guilt,
purify me from my offense.
5 Yes, I know my sin,
my iniquity is always before me.
6 Against you, and you alone, I have sinned; what is evil in your sight I have done.
So you can speak and show your righteousness, be a judge and show your victory.
7 I was born in sin,
I was a sinner from my mother's womb.
8 But you want the truth from within me; in secret you teach me wisdom.
9 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be white, whiter than snow.

11 Turn away your face from my iniquities; take away all my sins.
12 Create in me a clean heart, O my God; renew and raffclose within me my spirit. 13 Do not cast me from your presence,

14 Restore to me the joy of being saved; let the generous spirit sustain me.
15 I will teach sinners your ways; to you will the lost return.
16 Free me from bloodshed, O God, my saving God, and my tongue will praise your righteousness.

and my mouth shall declare your praise.
18 If I offre a sacrifice, you will not accept it; you will not accept a burnt offering.
19 The sacrifice that pleases God is a broken spirit; you do not repel, O my God,
a broken and crushed heart.
20 Grant Zion happiness; raise up the walls of Jerusalem.
21 Then thou shalt accept righteous sacrifices, oblations and burnt offerings;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.
Prayer: God our Father, open our hearts to the understanding of the Scriptures so that we may bear witness to your Son who died for us and lives with you and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever.
