SaintsIt is in Vence (Alpes-Maritimes), district of Grasse, that Saint Veran is invoked against delirium tremens. Saint Véran is invoked to obtain the relief of the people commonly called "fanatics". They are sick people who are taken from time to time by blind fury. These poor madmen are extremely unhappy because, apart from their crises, they are perfectly normal.
INVOCATION:
O infinitely good God, whose heart is so filled with gentleness and charity, grant to those whom we recommend to the intercession of Saint Veran, perfect peace and gentleness, with perfect health, by the merits and in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Saint Veran, whom we invoke so effectively for the mad, pray for us.
PRAYER:
So do, O my Jesus! may I glorify, throughout my life, your innocence condemned by men, and which has absolved so many poor condemned: let me glorify throughout my life your justice condemned by men, which has justified in the eyes of your Father so many sinners he had rejected, and me in particular. I never want to lose sight of the fact that it is you, O my Savior! who kill our death, and who, from the depths of hell, lead us to the blessed abode of eternal life. So be it.
