Saints
Saint Dominic of Sora is invoked against the bite of snakes.
It is also invoked against fever, especially epidemic fevers.
Saint Dominic is honored in Sora, Italy, where his relics rest in the Sora Monastery. It was through many miracles, which took place at his tomb, that God made the holiness of his servant shining.
INVOCATION
Lord our God, who are infinitely good, we offer you, in memory of your servant Saint Dominic of Sora, our prayers and our praises. Deign, by his intercession, to deliver us from the evils which afflict us. We pray to you through Our Lord Jesus Christ. So be it.
Pray for us, Saint Dominic of Sora, in the heat of fever and against the bite of poisonous beasts.
PRAYER
The demon, like a roaring lion, is constantly circling around me and seeking to devour me; resist him and come to my aid. Carry me in your arms, lest my foot strike against the stone, and I fall dangerously in the midst of the scandals and malignancy with which this world is full. Guard me throughout the journey of this mortal life; and when I go out to return to the heavenly homeland, walk before me, and bring me into this place which God has prepared for me, where, having become like you, I will worship and praise forever with you the sovereign God who created us to serve and love him. So be it.
