For cases of pregnancy, this prayer should be recited over sweet almond oil which is anointed on the stomachs of pregnant women. To protect the children, write the prayer on a parchment and have them carry it.

Good Saint Nicholas, protector of children and pregnant women, angelic pastor and miracle worker, merciful to the poor and comforters of orphans; protect the innocent and the mothers. Turn away the odious satan from the weak and the small; repel by your power the enemy who wants to harm the work of the bowels and grant a good pregnancy without shadows or dangers. Remember, good Saint Nicholas, the children whom you delivered from death and demise, also on this day, preserve the little ones from evil hands, for the Lord has given you great power to chastise their enemies. Amen.
