Novena to Saint George to ask for Protection, Strength and Courage

Saint George is known to come to the aid of those who have work problems, who toil without results, who are victims of jealousy or simply who are looking for a job. This novena can also be recited for exams in order to achieve good success and generally in all difficult academic cases.

PREPARATORY PRAYER

Almighty and Eternal God!
With the lively and respectfully adoring faith of Your divine Majesty, I overwhelm myself before You and I invoke with filial confidence of Your supreme generosity and pity.
Illuminate the darkness of my intellect with a ray of Your celestial light and ignite my heart with the fire of Your divine love, so that I can consider the great virtues and merits of the Saint of whom I make in his honor this novena to his example imitate, like him, the life of Your divine Son.
Further, I beg you to grant me graciously, through the merits and intercession of this mighty Help, the need that I humbly place before You, "Thy will be done on earth in heaven."
Graciously grant to hear it, if it contributes to Your greater glory and the saving of my soul.

INVOCATION

"Great martyr of God, Saint George, invincible fighter of divine grace; on our knees we beg you to listen to us and to answer our prayer, valiant athlete who received the crown of the victors".

First day (9 times)

Like the angel of justice, you always ride, O Saint George, to bring help to the despised and to deliver those whom the evil one has imprisoned. Also, it is to you that I turn, valiant warrior, deliver me from traps and perfidies, come in haste to my help, you the holy rider, the formidable adversary of the ancient dragon, the valiant soldier of Christ our God .
Amen.

Second day (9 times)

No one is forsaken if he speaks to you, O Saint George, for you are the swift help of the humble and the afflicted. See and consider the trials that litter my path, the difficulties that redouble around me. O help of the little ones, Unparalleled Justice, hasten to deliver me from snares and enemies, raise the victorious banner of Christ and chase down the enemies of God.
Amen.

Third day (9 times)

On the road where souls get lost, I too get lost, O Saint George; I have lost the way to the right port; I have turned my way from light and life; this is why I say to you: enlighten my heart, valiant warrior; enlighten my soul, mighty defender; enlighten my mind, great Martyr Saint George.
Amen.

Fourth day (9 times)

I remained nailed by the work of the Bad; my hands did not create anything and I did not receive the wages for my work. I have sought, but in vain, comforters and friends: I have not found a single one. Saint George, O supreme fighter, you will know how to console and strengthen me, free me from shackles and give me bread. On your white horse, ride up to me, pull me up to your side to take me through the valley of sorrows and tears.

Fifth day (9 times)

When you fought the fierce dragon, the Lord gave you intelligence and knowledge; he cocked your arm with an invincible spear and showed you the way to victory. In these days of anguish, I turn to you: calm my worried mind; restore intelligence to my narrow mind and take me through trials without danger, O Saint George, you who by your shed blood received the crown of conquerors.

Sixth day (9 times)

Every day I implore you, O Saint George, I address this prayer to you: lead me on the path of my life. When I knock on the door, no one opens me; when I call no one answers; but you, valiant Martyr, hear me. Intercede for me in your divine glory; obtain forgiveness for my sins and grace from above. Also, I will come to proclaim your praises and proclaim all your wonders.

Seventh day (9 times)

Remember, O Blessed One, the commandments of God; He who ordered the man to earn his bread by the sweat of his work. But me, here I am alone, abandoned and begging the food of my day; I am looking for who will come to my aid, who will come to my aid, who will hold out his hand to me as to a friend: alas, there is not one. This is why, in God alone, I place my hope and towards you I turn: hasten to answer me, valiant Saint George, protector of humble hearts.

Eighth day (9 times)

There is no man capable of saving himself and no one to push back the laws of time: only the Holy Spirit can. And you, venerable Saint, you have received divine grace, the power of the Paraclete Spirit to come to the aid of men. Give my intelligence stability, confidence and peace. Grant me the chance to be victorious over trials, to overturn pitfalls and traps, so that I may glorify the King of all things; He who through the cross overcame everything.

Ninth day (9 times)

For nine days my imprisoned soul waited to be delivered, my fragile spirit hoped to be saved, and behold, I hear the sound of a gallop, I see the dust of the road powdering, for you come to my aid , O mighty Horseman of Christ. May your protection be a shield to me, may your intercession become an armor for me and always preserved by your mighty arm, Saint George, may I obtain from God grace and blessing.
Amen.

At the end of the novena, offer a mass to Saint George.
